Increase your return on investment from attending the WM Conference by earning your professional development hours and/or IACET accredited continuing education units (CEUs). Whether you need credits to maintain professional certifications, increase your knowledge, accelerate your career growth leading to potential career advancement, WM conference offers diverse technical topics available.
WM offers Professional Development Hours for attendees (as allowed and prescribed by the Professional Organization) of most technical sessions* and roundtables, including the presenters of the material. PLUS, we are now an accredited trainer of industry topics with accredited CEUs which we will apply to select technical sessions and training workshops.
What is the difference between PDHs and CEUs?
Professional Development Hours
WMS offers industry professionals (PE, PG, CHP, CSP, CHMM, PMP, and more) the opportunity to earn more than 25 professional development hours at the many technical sessions, panels, and roundtables. Workshops on Sunday are also eligible for professional development hours. Each eligible session will be identified in the on-line program later this year, with plenty of time to create your itinerary. Following the event, you can download a certificate of hours and submit to your certifying body. The certifying organization (e.g., Health Physics Society, State Board of Engineers, etc.) will need to validate it meets the organization’s definition of professional development hours.
Training and Continuing Education Units
We have achieved the elite distinction of becoming an IACET CEU accredited training provider. Waste Management Symposia is accredited by the International Accreditors for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) and offers IACET CEUs for its learning events that comply with the ANSI/IACET Continuing Education and Training Standard. IACET is recognized internationally as a standard development organization and accrediting body that promotes quality of continuing education and training. As such the WMS education and training team works diligently to develop educational workshops and select technical sessions to deliver training for career development.
Because IACET CEU training sessions are accredited the training certificate we issue is readily accepted by most professional certification organizations (Health Physics Society, State Boards of Engineers, etc.) without individual audit. This certification makes the IACET CEU the most valuable professional development credit available. Earning IACET accredited CEUs proves that you have attended a certified educational session, gained the necessary knowledge, and passed the quiz with a score of 80% or higher, demonstrating that you have attained the required learning objectives of that session. Participants must attend the entire workshop or session and will take an assessment covering the session material to download the CEU certificate.
We will identify training workshops and technical sessions with CEU availability here soon, as well as in the online program and in the registration portal.
Some professional certifying bodies only recognize very specific training requirements. Be sure to check with your organization’s requirements.
*Attendees must have a Technical Registration to attend technical sessions.
