WMS Announces the Appointment of Susan Walter as its Managing Director.

Waste Management Symposia Inc. (WMS), a Phoenix based nonprofit, today announces that Ms. Susan Walter has been appointed as the new WMS Managing Director effective immediately.

Ms. Walter is a veteran of our industry with more than 30 years’ experience in environmental, waste management, and risk analysis disciplines. She is a scientist by education and experience and the founder of a woman-owned small business. Susan has also served as the Deputy Program Advisory Committee (PAC) Chair the last two years.

Mr. Jim Gallagher, Chairman of WMS, said “We are delighted to have a Managing Director with the talents, experience, and drive that Susan possesses. Also, I want to thank Bob Weiler who has served very well as the interim Managing Director since May.”

WMS hosts the annual international conference for the management of radioactive waste and related topics, the largest of its kind in the world. The conference attracts 2400 persons from more than 35 countries.
