The WMS Wendell D. Weart Life-Time Achievement Award, named in honour of Dr.
Wendell Weart (Sandia Laboratories, ret.) was established in 2001 to periodically recognize individual long term excellence in nuclear waste management. First awarded
to Dr. Weart, the Award periodically recognizes the long-term commitment of selected recipients in solving nuclear waste challenges, which may include education,
research, public policy, or implementation of solutions for managing nuclear wastes, and whose actions have contributed to the resolution of significant nuclear waste
management issues.
