| The Bigge group are heavy riggers, transportation engineers, constructors,consulting engineers, spent fuel handlers and specialized transporters who have been satisfying clients throughout the world since 1916. Our experience in the nuclear field began in 1957 at the Humboldt Bay Nuclear Power plant for the Pacific Gas & Electric Co. with the transportation and the installation of the Boiling Water Reactor. Since that time we have worked in over forty percent of the nuclear plants in the United States. The projects we have successfully completed include new equipment installation, steam generator replacement, decommissioning, spent fuel movement, reactor internals removal, engineering planning, and studies and consulting. In addition, Bigge with our partner Southern California Edison can supply all the services necessary for complete spent fuel operations including: fuel inspection, procedure writing, underwater cameras and tooling, fuel characterization, nuclear engineering, health physics and ALARA radiation protection programs, chemistry, QA/QC, licensing, project management, NRC interface, public relations and regulatory affairs. We also have available unique fuel handling and transportation equipment such as a single failure proof hoist, specialized transporters, robotic welders and transportation cask. |
